Start-Up Fix for Netscape Navigator Users 09/03/97
Description of Problem:
A crash could occur when starting up WebFind Assistant™ for the first time when either Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer are missing from the user's machine. WebFind Assistant™ checks for the existence of these two applications in the system's desktop database. If either of these applications' creator codes are not found, WebFind Assistant™ cannot initialize and an system crash could occur.
Description of Fixes:
These are "dummy applications" which serve as "placeholders" for the missing browsers. Their sole purpose is to add the creator code of the missing browser to the desktop database. To work around the start-up problem, simply download the appropriate fix for the missing browser application. These "dummy applications" should be removed if the user decides to install the real browsers at a later date. These fixes should only be used only if either Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer are not installed on the user's system. Users that have both of these browsers installed do not need this fix.
Users that downloaded the demo or release version after 7:00 PM EST 09/03/97 do not need this fix. Updated installers have been posted to included these fixes.
Installing the Fix (Netscape Navigator Users Only):
Use this fix ONLY if you are using Netscape Navigator and DO NOT have Microsoft Internet Explorer installed on your system.
